IRAN HOLDS MAJOR NAVAL DRILL IN 2 MILLION SQUARE KILOMETERS AREA

The drills code-named Velayat 95 were set to take place in in the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf of Oman, the Bab el-Mandab and northern parts of the Indian Ocean in an area of million square kilometers. “The aim of the Velayat 95 drill is to upgrade the country’s defensive capabilities and send Iran’s message of peace and friendship to the regional countries,” PressTV quoted Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari. The drills include missile tests, intelligence operations, deployment of submarines and rescue operations and involve a range of naval equipment including submarines and helicopters manufactured in Iran. ISIS DRONE DESTROYED IRAQI FRCES HUMVEE IN MOSUL

ISIS drone armed with munitions targeted and allegedly destroyed a Humvee vehicle belonging to Iraqi forces operation in the area of Mosul. Click to see the full-size map Carrier strike group (CSG) is an operational formation of the United States Navy. It is centered on an aircraft carrier and a carrier air wing (CVW) of 65 to 70 aircrafts. It’s composed of roughly 7,500 personnel, an aircraft carrier, at least one cruiser, a destroyer squadron of at least two destroyers and/or frigates. A carrier strike group also, on occasion, includes submarines, attached logistics ships and a supply ship. Carrier strike groups comprise a principal element of U.S. power projection over the world’s oceans.

EMIRATI SOLDIER, 2 SAUDI FIGHTERS KILLED IN YEMEN

On Friday, the General Command of the Emirati Army announced that one of its soldiers, Sergeant Khaled Ali Gharib Al-Balloushi, was killed in Yemen, the Al-Manar TV-channel reported. The Emirati General Command did not disclose how and in which part of the country the soldier was killed. Earlier this month, it became known that commander of Emirati troops in Yemen, Nasser Moshabib al-Atibi, was killed by a medium-range ballistic missile, fired by the alliance on Mokha city in Taiz province. At the same time, it was reported about deaths of two Saudi fighters, who lost their lives in attacks, committed by the Houthi-Saleh alliance in various areas of Yemen. IRAQI AIR FORCE CARRIES OUT AIRSTRIKES ON ISIS TARGETS IN SYRIA

The Iraqi Air Force has for the first time carried out airstrikes on positions of the Islamic State terrorist group in Syria. Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said that he delivered an order to carry out airstrikes on positions of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic , the Reuters news agency reported on Friday. “We gave orders to the air force command to strike Islamic State positions in [the Iraqi town of] Hosaiba and Albu Kamal inside Syrian territory as they [terrorists] were responsible for recent bombings in Baghdad,” Reuters quoted the words of al-Abadi. According to the Prime Minister, Iraqi military have already conducted the operation. “The heroes of the sky executed the operation and responded to the terrorists with amazing success,” al-Abadi noted. Reportedly, the airstrikes were carried out by the F16 fighter jets on Friday morning. As a result, a headquarters of the terrorist group, located in Albu Kamal, was destroyed. “...
