All major cities of the Soviet Union were included in the list of 66 “strategic” targets. The tables below categorize each city in terms of area in square miles and the corresponding number of atomic bombs required to annihilate and kill the inhabitants of selected urban areas. Six atomic bombs were to be used to destroy each of the larger cities including Moscow, Leningrad, Tashkent, Kiev, Kharkov, Odessa. (Menahem Kahana / AFP/Getty Images) The Israeli Defense Forces have reportedly been placed on high alert ahead the expected announcement of the Trump administration to to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. According to reports, the decision is set to be announced on Wednesday. US President Donald Trump told regional leaders his decision by phone sparking a criticism from around the globe. Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Jerusalem’s status is a “red line” and Ankara could respond with cutting ties with Israel. According to experts, the US decision will fuel further the tensions in the region. Israeli forces are already preparing for a new wave of violence and protests.

FILE IMAGE: Sputnik/ Six Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bombers have once again carried out a masssive strike on ISIS targets on the western bank of the Euphrates in the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor,  the Russian Zvezda TV channel reported on December 5. According to the report, the strike hit weapons depots, strong points and gatherings of ISIS near the area of al-Sayyal. The strike supported the Syrian Army advance in the area.  Earlier on the same day, government forces liberated the villages of Jalaa, Ramadi and Buq from ISIS on the western bank of the Euphrates.
