The Resurrection of Armageddon

By Paul Craig Roberts “The U.S. intelligence community’s extraordinary campaign of leaks claiming improper ties between President Trump’s team and Russia seeks to ensure a lucrative New Cold War by blocking detente.” — Gareth Porter  It only required 24 days for the Deep State to castrate President Donald Trump and terminate the promise that the high tensions with Russia created during the Clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama regimes would be terminated by Trump’s presidency. As Gareth Porter shows conclusively , the case against General Flynn, Trump’s 24-day National Security Adviser, and by implication against Trump himself, is a fake news creation. Obama’s CIA director, John Brennan, planted fake reports, none of which contained any evidence whatsoever, on the CIA-compliant media whores known as “presstitutes.” The CIA’s media whores knew that the reports were a CIA response to the threat to the $1,000 billion annual budget of the military/security complex that desperately needs “th

Trump’s Proposed Increase in U.S. "Defense" Spending Would Be 80 Percent of Russia’s Entire Military Budget

By Alex Emmons The U.S. government already spends $600 billion dollars a year on its military — more money than the next seven biggest spenders combined, including China and Russia. On Monday, the White House said it would request $54 billion more in military spending for next year. That increase alone is roughly the size of the entire annual military budget of the United Kingdom, the fifth-largest spending country, and it’s more than 80 percent of Russia’s entire military budget in 2015. If Congress were to follow Trump’s blueprint, the U.S. military budget could account for nearly 40 percent of global military spending next year. The U.S. would be outspending Russia by a margin of greater than 9 to 1. At a meeting of U.S. governors on Monday, Trump described his forthcoming budget proposal as “a public safety and national security budget.” The share of world military expenditure of the 15 states with the highest expenditure in 2015. RUSSIA, CHINA BLOCK ATTEMPT TO IMPOSE ADDITIONAL UN SANCTIONS ON SYRIA

(Photo by Reuters) Russia and China have vetoed a UN Security Council proposal against the Syrian government over its alleged use of chemical weapons. “On Tuesday, the measure, drafted by Britain, France and the US, got the minimum nine “yes” votes. However, Russia, China and Bolivia opposed the resolution while Kazakhstan, Ethiopia and Egypt abstained,” PressTV reported . If the proposal is accepted, it would have banned the supply of helicopters to the Syrian government, and blacklisted eleven Syrian military commanders over allegations of gas attacks. Earlier today in the Kyrgyz capital, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow considers it unnecessary to

Jeff Davis said on Monday. Reportedly, shortly after taking office, the President ordered the Pentagon to develop a specific plan in 30 days in order to fight against terrorists in Syria and Iraq, focusing on speeding up the process of their total destruction. According to Davis, the new draft plan, which provides “rapid defeat of the IS,” was presented by US Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis to the White House. “We’re charged with leading the development of the plan, but it absolutely calls upon the capabilities of other departments,” the Pentagon spokesman said. Experts believe that the draft plan

Why Facts Don’t Change Our Minds

By Elizabeth Kolbert In 1975, researchers at Stanford invited a group of undergraduates to take part in a study about suicide. They were presented with pairs of suicide notes. In each pair, one note had been composed by a random individual, the other by a person who had subsequently taken his own life. The students were then asked to distinguish between the genuine notes and the fake ones. Some students discovered that they had a genius for the task. Out of twenty-five pairs of notes, they correctly identified the real one twenty-four times. Others discovered that they were hopeless. They identified the real note in only ten instances. As is often the case with psychological studies, the whole setup was a put-on. Though half the notes were indeed genuine—they’d been obtained from the Los Angeles County coroner’s office—the scores were fictitious. The students who’d been told they were almost always right were, on average, no more discerning than those who had been told they were mostly

White House Calls for $54B Bump in "Defense" Spending, Sharp Domestic Cuts

Military Industrial Complex Wins: The Trump administration has not said how much money it will ask Congress to spend in total. By Alex Guillén, Sarah Ferris and Jeremy Herb The White House took its first steps Monday toward what would be a dramatic reshuffling of the $3 trillion-plus federal budget, sending guidance to agencies that calls for a $54 billion increase in defense spending and corresponding reductions to most non-security agencies. While Office of Management and Budget officials briefed reporters on the plan this morning, President Donald Trump publicly explained his proposal to focus federal spending on national security, including boosts to the military, local law enforcement and the Border Patrol, while cutting domestic programs and foreign aid. Trump has said his budget will not include cuts to Medicare or Social Security, the usual targets of Republicans trying to trim federal spending. “This budget follows through on my promise of keeping America safe, keeping out
