Is North Korea a Diversion for a US-Jordan Invasion of Syria?

By Mike Whitney “Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad said that his country has information that Jordan is planning to send its troops into southern Syria in cooperation with the United States….’Jordan is not an independent country. Whatever the United States wants, it will happen,’ said Assad.” — Middle East Monitor “In the event of a de-facto partition of Syria, the US and its allies will get a strategically important region. It is through Deir Ezzor that the proposed gas pipeline from Qatar is supposed to run….The Deir Ezzor province is also home to Syria’s largest oil deposit, the Al-Omar. …the city and the province are of particular value since the deposits there contain the highly valuable light sweet crude usable in the production of gasoline and diesel fuel.” — South Front, “The Stronghold of Deir Ezzor; What You Need to Know” May 03, 2017 " Information Clearing House " -   The United States is not going to launch a preemptive attack on North Ko...

THE FBI JAMES COMEY SAGA: HILLARY BRIBED THE FBI OFFICIAL IN CHARGE OF THE EMAIL INVESTIGATION

Written by  Prof Michel Chossudovsky ; Originally appeared at  Globalresearch Author’s note and Update FBI Director James Comey confirmed in a Senate Judiciary Committee on  May 3 that his mandate required him to speak out regarding the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails trove, 11 days prior to the November 8 presidential elections. Comey confirmed that he had no regrets: “It makes me mildly nauseous to think that we might have had some impact on the election, but honestly, it wouldn’t change the decision, … To not speak about it would require an act of concealment in my view,… Concealing, in my view, would be catastrophic.” In four hours of testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Comey delivered his most impassioned defense yet of a decision that many Democrats believe cost them the White House:  telling Congress 11 days before the Nov. 8 election that the FBI had uncovered a new trove of Clinton-related emails. … He told the panel...

NORTH KOREA THREATENS CHINA WITH “GRAVE CONSEQUENCES” OVER “BETRAYAL”

Earlier this morning we reported that according to Korea Times,   China had allegedly sent North Korea what amount to a final warning over its military provocations.  The rumor cited the May issue of Hong Kong monthly news outlet Dong Xiang. It said a Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs junior minister invited Park Myung-ho, an official of North Korea, for a meeting. China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the meeting and asked his junior to read aloud the warning to the North over the nuclear test. The memorandum mentioned that China will condemn strongly, pull back on all economic cooperation and even blockade North Korea if it conducted the test. It didn’t take Korea long to respond… In an almost unprecedented criticism of China on Wednesday, North Korea’s state media said Chinese state media commentaries calling for tougher sanctions over Pyongyang’s nuclear program were undermining relations with Beijing and worsening tensions.   As Reuters reports,  a ...

[Ammar Abdullah/Reuters] Al-Jazeera stringers have recently filmed a false flag fake chemical attack against civilians in Syria, the Russian state-run news agency Sputnik reported citing a military and diplomatic source. “The “effectiveness” of the White Helmets’ TV-spectacle of accusing Syrian authorities of attacking civilians in Khan Shaykhun with sarin inspired terrorists to continue filming the fake ‘series’. According to info confirmed via several channels, al-Jazeera television channel stringers have recently filmed a staged, fake scene of an alleged chemical attack against civilians by the Syrian Army,” Sputnik  quoted the source . “A multiple simultaneous uploading of filmed fake footage with ‘screaming’ social media comments was due to take place in the next few days (by Sunday) at the separate command of a mastermind and sponsor of the film in one of the European countries.” Some 30 fire engines and ambulances, 70 local residents with children...

Washington Plans to Nuke Russia and China

By Paul Craig Roberts Not everyone likes to hear about the threat of nuclear war. Some find refuge in denial and say that nuclear war is impossible because it makes no sense. Unfortunately, humankind has a long record of doing things that make no sense. In previous posts in recent years I have pointed out both written documents and changes in US war doctrine that indicate that Washington is preparing a preemptive nuclear attack on Russia and China. More recently, I have shown that Washington’s demonization of Russia and President Putin, the incessant lies about Russian deeds and intentions, and the refusal of Washington to cooperate with Russia on any issue have convinced the Russian government that Washington is preparing the Western populations for an attack on Russia. It is obvious that China has come to the same conclusion. It is extremely dangerous to all of mankind for Washington to convince two nuclear powers that Washington is preparing a preemptive nuclear strike against t...

The Rise of the Generals

By Patrick Buchanan Has President Donald Trump outsourced foreign policy to the generals? So it would seem. Candidate Trump held out his hand to Vladimir Putin. He rejected further U.S. intervention in Syria other than to smash ISIS. He spoke of getting out and staying out of the misbegotten Middle East wars into which Presidents Bush II and Obama had plunged the country. President Trump’s seeming renunciation of an anti-interventionist foreign policy is the great surprise of the first 100 days, and the most ominous. For any new war could vitiate the Trump mandate and consume his presidency. Trump no longer calls NATO "obsolete," but moves U.S. troops toward Russia in the Baltic and eastern Balkans. Rex Tillerson, holder of Russia’s Order of Friendship, now warns that the U.S. will not lift sanctions on Russia until she gets out of Ukraine. If Tillerson is not bluffing, that would rule out any rapprochement in the Trump presidency. For neither Putin, nor any su...

FILE IMAGE The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has repelled a large-scale attack by ISIS militants on the village of Abu Mayalah and Sardah, northeast of the important town of Khanasser. The only government supply line to the city of Aleppo runs through Khanasser. The ISIS-linked news agency “Amaq” announced that ISIS militants had managed to kill 30 Syrian soldiers and captured four during the attack on government positions east of the Khanasser road. However, a source from the SAA in Khanasser said that no soldier was lost in the battle. The source said that dozens ISIS terrorists were killed and four their bodies of militants were captured. The SAA destroyed two ISIS technicals (a vehicle armed with a machine gun) and a battle tank. As a result of clashes the SAA did not lose any position and ISIS terrorists fled the area because of large losses. According to pro-government sources, the SAA may work on securing the eastern side of the Khanasser road. They could ...
