South Korea Delays THAAD Deployment – What Next?

More Details Appear About US Attack Against Syrian Su-22

According to a source in the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF), Lieutenant Colonel Ali Fahd took off in the afternoon of June 18 from the T4 airbase east of Homs. From an older video we know that the warplane is a Soviet made ground attack Su-22M4 with the serial number “3224”. Media Claim Putin Showed Stone Video Of U.S. Forces Claiming Its Russian Air Force. Kremlin Denies

Media reports appeared online claiming that Russian President Vladimir Putin showed filmmaker Oliver Stone footage of a US helicopter shooting Tliban extremists in Afghanistan and told him it was the Russian Aerospace Forces operating in Syria. In turn, Kremlin denied these reports. Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the pro-opposition news site “ Meduza ” that “this is not true. US F/A-18 SUPER HORNET DOWNED SYRIAN SU-22 IN ATTEMPT TO STOP GOVERNMENT ADVANCE AGAINST ISIS IN RAQQA PROVINCE

FILE IMAGE On Sunday, a US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet shot down a Syrian Air Force Su-22 warplane near Ja’Din in the western part of the province of Raqqah. Ja’Din is located in the area south of the town of Tabqah controlled by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The Su-22 was supporting the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) advance towards the ISIS-held town of Resafa located at the Ithriyah-Rusafa-Raqqa road when it was downed by the US warplane. The Syrian Defense Ministry said in a statement that “ This attack comes at a time when the Syrian Arab army and its allies are advancing in the fight against ISIS terrorists  who are being defeated in the Syrian desert in more ways than one.” It added that the US attack was aimed to undermine the government forces effort against ISIS terrorists. IRAN LAUNCHES MEDIUM-RANGE GROUND-TO-GROUND MISSILES ON ISIS TARGETS IN DEIR EZZOR, SENDS SIGNAL TO US-BACKED FORCES IN SYRIA

Following the incident with  downing of a Syrian Air Force Su-22 warplane by the US warplane , Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched medium-range ground-to-ground missiles at ISIS targets in the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor. According to the IRGC, the missiles were launched from the western Iranian provinces of Kermanshah and Kordestan, flied through Iraq’s airspace and hit terrorists targets in Syria. Iran reportedly used Zolfaqar missiles,  recently supplied to the IRGC . The Iranian state-run media argued that a high number of ISIS terrorists were killed as a result of the attack. However, no numbers were provided. The IRGC statement said that the missile strike was a response to the recent ISIS-claimed terrorist attack in Tehran. However, it’s clear that this missile strike was a message to the US-led coalition and US-backed forces in Syria. CLASHES BETWEEN US-BACKED FORCES AND SYRIAN ARMY ERUPT SOUTH OF TABQAH

Sporadic firefights erupted between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) south of Tabqah in the province of Raqqah last night. The tensions grew following  the US attack against a Syrian warplane near the ISIS-held town of Resafa . According to pro-governnment sources, the had opposed government forces attempt to conduct a pilot rescue operation south of Tabqah. This led to clashes in the area. The fate of the Su-22 pilot remains unclear.
