Even in failure, however, the North can still collect valuable data which will aid in improving and perfecting their missiles. LATEST NORTH KOREAN MISSILE TEST ENDS WITH EXPLOSION ON LAUNCH The attempted launch comes after a series of high-profile statements from North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un and U.S president Donald Trump, with the region appearing to be edging closer to war than it has done in decades. The missile launch was likely a show of defiance from Kim Jong-Un who has made several statements over the last few weeks stating that his country will continue nuclear missile tests regardless of international pressure to stop, or U.S troop movements close to his borders. US AIR FORCE SUCCESSFULLY TESTS NEW B61-12 NUCLEAR GRAVITY BOMB IN NEVADA

America begins test launches of modernised nuclear weapons. Onlookers have become increasingly concerned about the bellicose nature of the Trump administration following an increase in American military tension in both Syria and North Korea.  This week, anxieties were raised further after the American military dropped ‘the mother of all bombs’ on a target in Afghanistan which is believed to have been an ISIS pathway. Now it appears as though there may be further caused for alarm as the US National Nuclear Security Administration has announced the successful field test of the upgraded gravity nuclear bomb in a test site in Nevada. President Trump has given the green light to the US military to go ahead with an ambitious and incredibly expensive modernisation program related to the nuclear triad. BUNKER BUSTER: Bomb deadlier than MOAB could be used on North Korea, says weapons expert

AMERICA is “moving down the track” to using an even more powerful bomb in North Korea than the one it dropped in Afghanistan, according to one weapons expert. Dr Martin Navias, of King’s College London’s Centre for Defence Studies, said the MOAB (Massive Ordnance Air Blast) bomb, which was used on an ISIS tunnel in Nangahar, was not the most powerful weapon in Donald Trump’s arsenal. Aside from the MOAB bomb – the GBU-43 – nicknamed the “Mother of All Bombs”, he said another bomb, the GBU-57 – the Massive Ordnance Penetrator – was capable of even more destruction. Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s World at One , he said: “There are numerous weapons in the Americans’ arsenal that have not been used. “There’s another weapon that’s even more interesting. We’re talking today about the GBU-43, there’s another one, the GBU-57, that’s the Massive Ordnance Penetrator, and that will be very interesting to use practically because that one goes against deepened, protected targets – that’s a bu...

(CNN)North Korea put its adversaries on notice Saturday, when it showed off a bevy of new missiles and launchers at its annual military parade. Pyongyang showed off two new intercontinental ballistic missile-sized canisters as well as displaying its submarine-launched ballistic missile and a land-based version of the same for the first time, according to analysts. If North Korea has ICBMs, it could give it the ability to strike targets in the mainland US and Europe. The shorter range ballistic missiles displayed Saturday, meanwhile, are a threat to countries in the Asian region. North Korea's display comes as tensions on the Korean Peninsula have spiked to alarming levels. A missile believed to be the Pukguksong-1, a submarine-launched ballistic missile. The US Navy dispatched the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson strike group to the region last weekend, and US President Donald Trump has been tweeting this week that if China can't rein in North Korea's nuclear program the US...
