On Friday, Ahrar al-Sham accused Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) of mobilizing fighters against it in strategic areas overlooking the Ahrar al-Sham headquarters in northern Syria. Ahrar al-Sham called for HTS officials to intervene quickly in order to stop attempts to turn the so-called Syrian revolution into an internal fighting.
Ahrar al-Sham asserted that it would not attack or participate in any attack against HTS, but it would respond to any threat to its headquarters and important positions, even if it was under the pretext of the support to the expected Turkish intervention.
The HTS media official, Imad Eddin Mujahid, said that “the statements of some commanders of Ahrar al-Sham fall within a media attack” and added that any attack against HTS can be described as part of a plot against northern Syria.
HTS denied any tensions with the “Al-Wastah Division” in the Bab al-Hawa crossing on the Syrian-Turkish border, and confirmed that the incident at the Bab al-Hawa crossing was only misunderstood and had been resolved. HTS has warned Turkey several times about trying to launch an operation in Idlib and launched a campaign of arrests against fighters of the Turkey-led Euphrates Shield Forces
